Job Description

Training is offered in Sciences with a specialism in one of the 3 disciplines of Physics, Chemistry or Biology, although all trainees willl be expected to teach across the full range of subjects at KS3 and KS4.


An honours degree in a Science subject is required, preferably at 2:ii level or above. Applicants in Science-related subjects may be required to attend a Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) course in order to develop and extend their speciialist knowledge of their chosen discipline.


There are 6 places available, 2 in each of the Science disciplines. 3 of these places are available via the School Direct scheme.

Qualifications A honours degree in a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), or a closely related discipline, preferably at 2:ii or above. Applicants should also have a sound background in general sciences (e.g. 2 Science subjects at A level). GCSE in Maths & English at grade C or above.
Compensation Training bursary dependent on subject and degree class
Number of Openings 6 in total, 2 in each Science area
