| Job Description |
All schools in the partnership offer French as their main language, with either German or Spanish as their second languages. MFL applicants are therefore required to offer two languages, the second at least to KS3 level. Trainees are expected to have recent experience of their target language. At interview trainees are required to speak in their languages as part of the selection process.
For candidates with only one language other than English, there is a 3 month Subject Knowledge Enhancement course in both French and German which runs at the University of Portsmouth from May until July, and includes a visit to France or Germany. Further details are available at www.port.ac.uk/slas.
Candidates who have languages other than those listed above are welcome to apply, but it should be noted that in order to be placed in partnership schools they must have at least one of French or Spanish to a competent level.
There are 3 places available, and a maximum of 1 place only is available to those specialising in German. |
